I’m passionate about everything I do, and that passion can be seen in everything I create.
The long story
From an early age I loved creating. I remember working with my father building television stands (remember how televisions used to have to sit on another piece of furniture because they were too big to hang on the wall?), model train displays, and even an outdoor shed. As soon as I could pick up a hammer, I was swinging it and the best part about it was the end product. Seeing something come together from all of the hard work gave me a rush – and it still does.
As I matured, priorities shifted. I went to school and earned degrees in IT and began refocusing the passion to software engineering and project management. Working for some of the world’s largest companies, I created. I created profitable results for the organizations. But most important to me, I created solutions. This creation fueled that enthusiasm I felt as a child, working with my father, but there was still something missing.
That missing piece was an end product. The physical embodiment of the hours of hard work. The satisfaction of transforming raw materials into a finished piece that is both functional and appealing. As a ‘weekend handyman’ I continued to create. It started with hardwood floors, doors and crown molding, then progressed to kitchen and bathroom remodels. From there planter boxes, porch tables, and spice racks. Built-in bookcases and cabinets were next and the passion evolved. With a gentle nudging from my wife, I’ve turned these hobbies into a career. To this day, with every completed project, I still get the same rush I got as a boy swinging a hammer with my father.
